Visit at Andravida Air Base for attending Red Arrows training programme

"Air-Born" once again meets the Reds

The Hellenic Aviation Enthusiasts Society “Air-born” organized for its members yet one more visit to a Hellenic Air Force unit, this time we visited the grounds of 117 Combat Wing in Andravida.

The Red Arrows staying there for two weeks set the pretext for our visit. Our members had the chance to meet and get acquainted with the aircraft, the ground and the flying crews, much like we had done last year in Tanagra AB.

We watched every phase of their preparations and also their training sorties. From the pre-flight briefing and until the chocks were back in place, we were there.

But the show didn’t belong only to the red Hawks or to the always impressive Phantoms. It belonged to the staff of the 117 Wing. Straight away we felt right at home. And maybe this was indeed home. Among great people and their flying machines.

We thank them all and we wish them happy landings.
