How to get there

Spotting point 1 lies parallel to the threshold of runway 25. Upon leaving the air terminal, move towards the direction of Rhodes Town (follow the green line on the map). This point lies just opposite the traffic lights. If you are driving a car of motorbike, you must be very cautious, since this is the point where two opposite direction roads meet. If coming from Rhodes Town (yellow line on the map) stop at the right hand side, just after the traffic lights. If walking from the air terminal, this will normally take you approximately 10 minutes. If driving, this will not take you more than five minutes. From Rhodes Town, it  takes you about 30 to 40 minutes to get here.

Light conditions

Observation Point 1 enables you to take photos  either of aircraft taxiing for take-off from runway 25 or landing aircraft. Optimal light conditions from early morning till noon.

Photographic Equipment

Wide angle lens is a must for taxiing aircraft. 300 mm lens will be enough for landing aircraft, or those on runway 25.

Other Information

You can buy water from the gas station close to the observation point. Just walk for 250 metres towards the direction of Rhodes Town. The gas station is on your left hand side.
